Vape Troubleshooting Guide: Leaking, Burnt Taste, Gurgling & Weak Hits (UAE)

Your vape leaks into your pocket, tastes like burnt toast, or gives you a puff of nothing. Before you toss it and buy a new one, check the cause. Most vape problems trace back to a handful of simple, fixable issues.

This guide walks through the five most common problems, what causes each one, and the quick fix that solves it.

🧪 Coil + liquidThe two usual suspects

Why Is My Vape Leaking?

Most leaks come from an over-filled tank, a loose or cracked pod, or e-liquid that’s too thin for the coil. Heat and pressure changes can also push liquid out through the airflow. Checking the pod seal and using the right PG/VG ratio fixes most leaks.

UAE summer heat makes leaks more common, since warm e-liquid thins out and slips past seals more easily. Store your device somewhere cool, and avoid filling a pod to the very top. If your liquid seems too thin or too thick for your device, our PG/VG ratio guide shows which blend fits which setup.

Why Does My Vape Taste Burnt?

A burnt taste usually means the coil is worn out, or the wick dried out from chain vaping or firing an unprimed coil. Replacing the coil and letting a fresh one soak for about five minutes before use fixes it in most cases.

Sweet e-liquids gunk up coils faster, so flavor-heavy juices often need more frequent coil changes. For a full breakdown of coil lifespan and how to pick the right replacement, see our replacement coils and pods guide.

Why Is My Vape Gurgling?

Gurgling means excess e-liquid has pooled in the airflow channel or coil chamber. It comes from over-filling, a flooded coil, or thick liquid in a small pod. Turning the device off, gently clearing the airflow channel, and wiping away excess liquid usually stops the sound.

If it keeps happening, the liquid is likely too thick for your coil. Switching to a higher-PG blend often solves it for small MTL pods.

Why Is My Vape Not Hitting or Giving Weak Vapor?

Weak hits usually come from a low battery, a worn or dry coil, a clogged airflow channel, or a pod that isn’t seated properly. Check the charge, reseat the pod, and replace the coil if flavor is faint too. A weak battery is the easiest cause to rule out first.

If your device dies quickly or struggles to hold a charge, read our battery and charging safety guide before you keep using it.

Why Do I Get a Dry Hit?

A dry hit happens when the coil isn’t getting enough liquid, either because the tank is nearly empty, the liquid is too thick for the coil, or the coil wasn’t primed. Stop vaping immediately, since firing a dry coil burns the cotton and ruins it.

Refill the tank, add a few drops of liquid directly onto the coil cotton, and wait a few minutes before your next puff.

The pod system user

Most of your issues come from the pod: a loose seal, a worn cartridge, or over-filling. Keep a spare from our vape pods range so a bad pod never leaves you stuck.

The box mod user

Wattage set too high for the coil causes most burnt tastes and dry hits. Check your tank’s recommended range, or see our box mod kits guide for device-by-device settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I replace the whole device instead of fixing it?

Replace it if the battery no longer holds a charge, the casing is swollen or cracked, or the problem returns right after you swap the coil or pod. Those signs point to a hardware fault, not a simple fix.

Is leaked e-liquid harmful if it touches my skin?

E-liquid contains nicotine, so wipe it off and wash the area with soap and water as soon as possible. Avoid leaving leaked liquid on skin or near children and pets.

Does UAE summer heat make these problems worse?

Yes, heat thins e-liquid and speeds up coil wear, which makes leaks and burnt tastes more likely. Keep your device and spare liquid out of parked cars and direct sun.
